|2/10/2012 ||2/19 State Wrestling Tournament - 7th of 48 Teams|
Blair wrestlers scored a school record 78 team points on their way to a 7th place finish at the state wrestling tournament. Senior Brandon Lincoln started the finals off with a 16-1 technical fall over Quinten Dawes of Gretna to cap off a 41-0 senior season which ended with his first state championship. Will Schany followed that win up with a 11-3 major decision over Connor Hovey of Bennington to finish the season 41-1 while earning his 2nd state championship. Earlier in the day Colt Wakefield put together two impressive matches highlighted by an overtime pin over a wrestler from McCook to earn a 3rd place state medal. Other Blair State participants were Chris Bannister, Gage Ryan, Gary Tranmer, Joe Sheehan, and Jacob Beck.
2/9-2/10 B-2 District Tournament - 3rd of 12 Teams
Blair placed 3rd of 12 teams behind #1 ranked Omaha Skutt and #2 ranked Gretna. Eight Blair wrestlers qualified for the state tournament which is the 2nd most any Blair team has qualified. 2011 State Qualifiers were Seniors Brandon Lincoln, Chris Bannister, Gary Tranmer, Joe Sheehan, and Jacob Beck; Junior Gage Ryan; Sophmores Colt Wakefield and Will Schany.
2/3 EMC Tournament

Blair wrestlers Brandon Lincoln and Will Schany eached earned conference championships. Lincoln earned 3 pins on the day and finished up his day with a pin over #2 ranked Quinten Dawes, Gretna in the finals. Schany earned 18 takedowns and 3 pins on the way to his championship. Other conference medalists were Colt Wakefield 2nd, Blake Dunkle 4th, Chris Bannister 3rd, Cale Peterson 4th, Joe Sheehan 4th, and Jacob Beck 3rd.

Blair finished the day with 3 champions; Colt Wakefield, Brandon Lincoln, and Will Schany. Other Blair wrestlers who earned medals were Paxton Sternberg 5th, Blake Dunkle 4th, Brad Lenz 5th, Devon Snow 5th, Gabe Briardy 5th, Gary Tranmer 5th, Jacob Beck 4th, and Joe Sheehan 4th.
1/14 Schuyler Invite - 4th Place 12 Teams
Blair placed 4th which was 3.5 points behind runner-up Alliance. Brandon Lincoln and Will Schany both earned championships. Other Blair medalists were Paxton Sternberg 3rd, Colt Wakefield 2nd, Brad Lenz 6th, Chris Bannister 6th, Gage Ryan 6th, Gary Tranmer 6th, Jacob Beck 4th, Joe Sheehan 2nd, and Jason Sonderup 3rd.

Blair had a solid victory on a night where we honored our seniors in front of a packed house. Seniors that were recognized were Seniors 120 Brandon Lincoln, 145 Chris Bannister, 182 Gary Tranmer, 220 Joe Sheehan, HWT Jason Sonderup, and HWT Jacob Beck.
1/9 Nebraska USA Wrestler of the week
Blair Sophomore, Will Schany 170 lbs was the second Blair wrestler to be named the Nebraska USA class B wrestler of the week for his recent performance at the EMC duals.
1/6-1/7 EMC Dual Tournament
Dual Record 9-1
Blair finished in the runner up spot at this years EMC Dual tournament with a 7-1 dual tournament. Will Schany was voted as Most Outstanding wrestler of the Tournament by the coaches after posting an 8-0 record highlighted by a 6-5 decision over the Taylor McCalister of Plattsmouth who was ranked #1 at 160 lbs. Brandon Lincoln and Colt Wakefield also earnied EMC Dual championships finishing with 8-0 records. Gage Ryan, Gary Tranmer and Jacob Beck each finished with 7-1 records after the 2 day tournament.
12/16 Platteview Invite 1st Place - 9 Teams
Blair earned the tournament championship by placing 7 wrestlers in the finals with 2 wrestlers earning championships. Colt Wakefield and Brandon Lincoln earned championships for the Bears. Earning runner up medals were Chris Bannister, Gage Ryan, Will Schany, Gary Tranmer, and Jacob Beck. Also earning 4th place medals were Paxton Sternberg and Blake Dunkle.
12/15 Nebraska USA Wrestler of the week
Blair Senior, Brandon Lincoln 120 lbs was named the Nebraska USA class B wrestler of the week for his recent performance at Boys Town.

12/10 Boys Town Invitational 3rd Place - 18 Teams
Blair placed 3rd with 174 points at the prestigious 2 day Boys Town Invitational. Blair finished the day with 3 champions which tied Gretna with the most champions. Senior Brandon Lincoln earned a 11-4 decision over returning class A runner up and #1 ranked wrestler in class A Keygan Foster, Omaha Central in the semifinals and then dominated the class B returning runner up from Gretna 17-0 in the finals. Junior Gage Ryan won his 2nd tournament championship of the season going 3-0 with an exciting OT pin in the semi finals over another top wrestler from Beatrice. Sophomore, Will Schany avenged a defeat from last years tournament by winning a 6-4 decision over Ben Schwery of Lewis Central. Other Blair medalists were Jacob Beck 2nd, Colt Wakefield 3rd, Joe Sheehan 5th, Paxton Sternberg 5th, and Gabe Briardy 6th.
12/10 Fort Calhoun JV Tournament
The following Blair wrestlers earned medals at the Fort Calhoun JV tournament: Trevor Cornelious 2nd, Alec Gibson 1st, Gage Mruz 4th, Devon Snow 1st, Zach Barnhill 2nd, Austin Scherer 4th, Eric Hundahl 3rd, and Jason Sonderup 4th.
12/2 105th Career Win
Senior Brandon Lincoln earned his 105th career win in the finals of the Blair Invitational. 105 wins currently places Brandon at 5th all time in Blair career wins.
12/2 - Blair Invitational 2nd place - 8 Teams
Blair finshed as the tournament runner up with 172.5 points which was 19.5 points behind Millard South who finished with 192 points. Blair had 7 wrestlers reach the finals with 4 earning championships. Blair champions were; Colt Wakefield, Brandon Lincoln, Gage Ryan, and Will Schany. Earning runner up medals were; Chris Bannister, Gary Tranmer, and Jacob Beck. Also earning medals for Blair were; Joe Sheehan 3rd and Myles Roberts 4th.

11/5 Former Blair Wrestler Nick Sims who is wrestling for Hastings College recently won the 184 lbs. bracket at the York College Open tournament which Qualified him for the NAIA National Tournament in March.
